Commercial Questions

• Are all Living Earth Commercial products suitable for blower trucks?
  Virtually all Living Earth Mixes are suitable - in particular: mulches, compost and bark-based mixes such as Garden Mix. However the ability to blow product depends on moisture content and the truck itself. During winter, when it is wetter, our products are not always suitable for blowing, whereas in the summer they are. • Are all Living Earth commercial products 100% weed-free?
  Living Earth products are weed-free, with the exception of those that contain topsoil. While Living Earth uses high quality loam topsoil in its mixes, all topsoil carries weed seeds as a matter of course and therefore those products are not guaranteed weed-free.
• How many cubic metres does a truck and trailer generally carry?
  A truck and trailer will generally carry a maximum of:
  • Compost & Garden Mixes: 40m3
  • Topsoil or sand based mixes eg, UltraSoil & Lawn Mix: 30m3
  • Mulches: 50 m3
  NB these volumes vary at different times of the year depending on the product weights.
• Are the Living Earth Products verified independently by a testing regime?
  All Living Earth products are tested throughout their life by our onsite lab. To ensure our internal standards are met, as well as those set by organizations such as Biogro, samples are sent to Hill Labs for nutrient and other testing (heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides). In addition, Living Earth is audited by BioGro each year where they review our analysis and make sure it meets their specifications.

• What landscaping organisations does Living Earth support?
  Living Earth is a member of Landscape Industries Association of NZ Inc (LIANZ) and a supporter of the NZ Institute of Landscape Architects (NZILA). Living Earth is also a member of Composting NZ and WasteMinz. Living Earth was involved in the establishment of the NZ Compost Standards NZS 4454.
