The Fonterra Building, designed by Jasmax and built by Fletcher Construction, is a 5-star Green Star-rated headquarters that reflects a commitment to sustainability. Landscaped by Natural Habitats, the site integrates innovative green infrastructure and premium Living Earth products to support environmental responsibility.
At the plaza's northern end, manicured lawns and gardens thrive in Living Earth More Than Garden Mix and More Than Lawn Mix, with irrigation supplied by rainwater collected from the building. This rainwater is filtered through raingardens filled with Living Earth Raingarden Mix, ensuring that only purified water enters the stormwater system.
A standout feature of the building is its two seven-story-high green walls, planted with the rare New Zealand climber Tecomanthe speciosa. These lush vertical gardens are housed in steel planters filled with Living Earth More Than Potting Mix and mulched with More Than Mulch, providing a nutrient-rich and structurally supportive environment for the thriving greenery.
By incorporating sustainable landscaping solutions, Fonterra’s headquarters exemplifies how commercial developments can harmonise with nature while enhancing urban environments. Living Earth is proud to contribute to this pioneering approach to green building design.
