Kiwi Saffron, a family-run business in North Canterbury, is dedicated to growing the highest quality organic saffron in New Zealand. With a focus on sustainability and natural growing methods, Steve and Jo sought ways to enhance their saffron yield while maintaining the pristine condition of their land.
As a trial, they applied Living Earth’s BioGro-certified organic compost to select saffron rows, and the results were remarkable. The saffron plants in the composted beds developed greener, longer leaves, while weeds were naturally suppressed.
