Ordinary garden soil and products like compost and mixes may contain a variety of living micro-organisms, some of which, on rare occasions can cause illness in humans. Serious infection is rare. However, for older people or those with reduced immunity, infection can be life-threatening. We recommend the following precautions: avoid opening bags in enclosed areas; avoid inhaling the mix; always wear gloves and wash hands after use. See your doctor if you develop high fever, chill, breathlessness, or cough. 

RECYCLED PRODUCT

Living Earth products are made with a compost base produced from Auckland’s greenwaste. This is great for the planet but the reality of green waste recycling means that small inorganic items can sometimes remain after the composting and screening process. You can be confident Living Earth meets the NZS 4454 (and BioGro) standards and all products go through a pasteurisation process which means they’re safe with lots of long-term benefits for your soil. Your plants will thrive and your veggies will taste delicious. Please just be mindful of what goes in with your green waste when it is time for harvesting and pruning all that growth.
